Too bad I didn’t get to enjoy it. I’ve had this horrible cold since last Wednesday…started out as a sore throat and two days later a runny nose with a horrible cough.
Since I’d been locked up in the house since last Wednesday after golf, when I got sick, I wanted to try to play my normal Monday round. So…I went out and even though I was coughing and blowing my nose throughout the front nine, I felt decent.
By the back nine, I started feeling the effects of all this cold craap running through me. I was sweating profusely, even though the humidity was very low and it was a gorgeous day. All that hacking was wearing me out.
When we got to the last three or four holes, i started to feel its effects big time and how my energy level was draining. By 18, I was done in.
Of course, my score reflected it…but that’s understandable since I was sick. My shots had no zip because I had no energy. It was frustrating as hell…so I’ll rest tomorrow and Wednesday, it’ll be better.
I love this game and feel I want to be there when I can. I want to get better. My handicap came down 5 points in July. I need to play like I had in early July and do more. This is where I want to be. I don’t want a high handicap. I want to play well without it, so I need to do better. I will keep trying!
My poor Mets! They’re now 3 games out of first place. They were playing so well and now they’re faltering again. I hope they can recover!
LAW 6: The higher a golfer’s handicap, the more qualified he deems himself as an instuctor.
