Well…I wasn’t awful, but I wasn’t good either. Several pars saved me but for the most part, I didn’t do as well as I should have.
Once I remembered to keep my left elbow straight instead of letting it break of the swing, I started hitting the ball betters…however it wasn’t better enough.
The thing that killed me (and saved me as well several times) was my chipping. I’m still trying to get used to using my lob wedge and sand wedge in places other than the sand. Form about 60 yards or so out, sand wedge. 30 or so - lob wedge. Not sure I need a gap wedge - yet. Still trying to use these clubs to get a ball with a bit of spin so it’ll stop on the green and not roll off the other end.
I was neither the statue or the bird today…just an observer. So again…we’ll see. Wednesday, Thursday and Friday are rife with more opportunities. We shall see.
I know things will be better when my AC is fixed. It broke last Thursday and they’re coming today (one hopes) to fix it. I have mixed emotions about it. I want it fixed, but I also would like it to be dead so we need a new one. This is a builder’s grade piece of crap. It never gets really cold and never gets really warm…and it’s so inefficient, it costs us a fortune to be cold in the winter and hot in the summer. So…we’ll see.
Also part of the reason I didn’t excel today. When you sleep in the heat, you wake up not feeling refreshed.
Seems we’re losing ground. We’re only 1/2 game in first place behiond the Phillies. We won like 8 or 9 in a row, but I guess they did too. Then we’ve lost 2 in a row. Time is getting short!
LAW 15: A severe slice is a thing of awesome power and beauty.
