Guess my other “Just Me” blog will go by the wayside since i now have this one. Seems I might have more more control over this one than I do the other.
Needing to talk about today’s golf, I feel compelled to write this again:
Something has to be wrong. I shot the same thing today that I did Saturday. I’m not complaining, mind you, but its been so long since I’ve had 2 decent rounds in a row (almost 2 months) something has to be wrong!!
Well, actually what’s happening, I think, is the putting lessons might be finally kicking in. Got 3 long putts in a row on 3 consecutive holes. THAT doesn’t usually happen.
I played with the same friend I played with Saturday and 2 other friends who are always such fun to play golf with.
And how about Ryudi Imada winning his first ever PGA tournament. It’s very exciting to see that and we’re getting a lot of first time winners this season. Of course, what happened to Kenny Perry was so sad. I so felt for him. Talk about seriously bad luck!! He’s not that far from the green (on a par 5) and a good shot will put him up there in 2. So what happens? Poor guy hits a high shot that hits a pine tree smack in the trunk, caroms off and gathers speed as it flies down the green, onto the fringe and into the water. That’s when you just want to hide your head, or take up shuffleboard!! Only problem is there is no professional shuffleboard, and if there was, it wouldn’t pay anything anyway.
I’m fortunate enough to not have to think about taking up shuffleboard again until after tomorrow’s match. Of course, it’s going to be cold and rainy tomorrow. The course we’re playing is known for having a ridiculous number of rounds played in a year (about 90,000 vs about 25,000 in most courses in the area) so unless there’s a threat of thunderstorms in the area, looks like we’ll be very, very wet tomorrow
And how about Lorena Ochoa’s game play! She’s amazing.
Sad that Annika is going to retire, but when it’s over, it’s over. Best to leave while you’re still on top of your game.
So, my thought for the day, The trees taunt you; the sand mocks you; the water calls your name…and they say golf is a quiet game.
